National doctors day 2023

Doctors day

July 1, 2022, is the 138th birthday of the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

In memory of this great physician, this day is celebrated on 1st July all over India by paying homage to physicians of all walks of life. One of the main reasons for celebrating this day is to raise public awareness about the doctor-patient relationship in the field of medical services and health care and to show respect to doctors.

A brief history of National Physician's Day ...
On March 30, 1933, a meeting of medical sciences in the United States discussed the doctor-patient relationship in the field of healthcare.
Dr. W. Long succeeded in using the first ether anesthesia on March 30, 182 at Trafford. So in his voice, the American people chose that day as Doctor's Day to honor the medical profession. On October 30, 1990, then-President George W. Bush enacted a law to mark National Physicians' Day on March 30.
It is worth mentioning that this day is celebrated on 3rd December in Cuba and on 23rd August in Iran.

The main purpose of this day is to express gratitude to these great people who have worked tirelessly day and night to cure the dying patient with bouquets, cards, small gifts, receptions.
